The ACT AOD Sector Project is a
capacity building project that began on 23 July 2007 and is funded
by ACT Health. The Youth Coalition of the ACT provides support to
ACT AOD workers to conduct the AOD Sector Project.
The Project is guided by the broad policy
goals of:
- ACT Alcohol, Tobacco & Other Drug Strategy 2004 – 2008;
- ACT
Workforce Development Strategy (under development); and,
- Council
of Australian Governments Illicit Drug Diversion Initiative.
There are five key areas to the Project, these include:
- Project Management
- Secretariat
- Partnerships
- Communication
- Evaluation
The Project aims to build the capacity and identity of the AOD sector
in the ACT, foster intra and cross-sectoral relationships, and improve
outcomes while maintaining respect for the diversity of services
and for people who are affected by AOD.
