Review of AOD Written Materials for Young People in the ACT
The ACT AOD Sector is currently undertaking a Review of AOD Written Materials for
Young People in the ACT (the Review), which seeks to:
- Identify existing AOD written materials that are locally or externally produced and
available to young people in the ACT;
- Describe the extent and nature of AOD written materials being developed and/or
disseminated to young people in the ACT;
- Assess the efficacy and effectiveness of written materials identified; and
- Develop a tool, in partnership with key stakeholders that can be utilised as a
guide to best practice resource development for AOD written materials for young
people in the ACT.
To support the initiative, the Australia Drug Foundation conducted a workshop for
AOD and invited stakeholders in late 2009. The objectives of the workshop were to:
- Engage the ACT AOD Sector, and other identified stakeholders, to aid in the
development of a best practice tool; and
- Improve participants’ knowledge and practice regarding the development of
quality AOD information resources for young people.
Further information including a best practice tool and report will be available shortly.
