ACT Drug Action Week Planning Group
The ACT AOD Sector Project facilitates a Drug Action Week Planning Group to bring key stakeholders together to plan activities for Drug Action Week. The group is open and meetings are held in the months leading up to Drug Action Week.

ACT Drug Action Week 2008

Drug Action Week was held from 22 – 28 June 2008, with the theme ‘Alcohol is a Drug – TOO!' The ACT AOD Sector Project coordinates Drug Action  Week in the ACT.

ACT Drug Action Week 2008 Launch
The ACT AOD Sector Project in partnership with the ACT Drug Action Week Planning Group hosted an ACT launch for DAW 2008. Mrs Ruth Bell, Ngunnawal Elder opened Drug Action Week in the ACT and Ms Katy Gallagher, Deputy Chief Minister, Minister for Health officially launched DAW in the ACT. ACT Alcohol and Other Drug Services had service information stalls and a light lunch will be provided.

First Annual ACT Alcohol and Other Drugs Sector Conference
Alcohol: Past, Present and Future
The ACT AOD sector in partnership with the Youth Coalition of the ACT hosted the first Annual ACT Alcohol and Other Drug Sector Conference as part of Drug Action Week 2008. The conference focused on alcohol and aimed to facilitate access to the latest evidence relating to best practice and seeks to strengthen the capacity, skills and knowledge base of participants.

Four participatory sessions examined current and past alcohol policy, cultural issues and evidence-based interventions. The Conference incorporated four sessions that examined current and past policies, as well as current trends and practices related to alcohol.
