Intake & Assessment:

Admissions 9am – 3pm, Monday - Thursday. An over the phone assessment is required and is available 9am – 4pm, Monday - Friday.

   

Program/s:

Provides up to 7 days of non medicated residential support for people experiencing withdrawal.

Residents are assigned a case manager to help them achieve their desired goal. Counselling, 24 hour crisis support, excursions, herbal remedies, massage, service visits and aftercare support are also provided.

   

Cost:

$125 on admission which covers all expenses. The fee is non-refundable. If stay is over 7 days, a daily fee is charged.

Other:

Clients are admitted with medication provide they have a prescription and a dispensing regime is faxed to Arcadia. Medication to assist detoxification is not allowed at Arcadia.

Program/s:

Provides free and confidential counselling services for individuals, their families and friends affected by alcohol and other drug issues.

Crisis counselling:
Free drop in services for people with alcohol and other drug issues in need of urgent assistance available through Directions ACT Needle and Syringe Programs at Civic and Phillip Health Centres. Provides a range of resources, information, support and referrals.

Family support counselling:
Provides free family counselling for individuals and their family, or for the family members alone to develop strategies to cope with alcohol and other drug issues affecting the family.

Alcoholics Anonymous:
For people alcohol issues, run each Thursday from 1 -2pm.

Narcotics Anonymous:
For people experiencing illicit drug issues, run each Monday from 12.30 – 1.30pm.

Compass Support Group:
Offers families a supportive environment to discuss issues and learn strategies to manage alcohol and other drug issues. Provides information, support, resources, and assists people to manage self care and wellbeing. Run every second Tuesday from 6 – 8pm.

Continuing Care Counselling:
Counselling is available for those who have recently completed detoxification or rehabilitation and who are looking for strategies to prevent relapsing into past substance use habits.

Youth Support Worker:
Provides information, counselling and referrals to young people around alcohol and other drug issues. Provides support to young people involved with Youth Justice.

Indigenous Support:
Provides culturally aware counselling for Indigenous people with alcohol and other drug issues and their families and friends.

Primary NSP's at the City and Phillip Health Centres provide a range of sterile injecting equipment, primary health care and crisis counselling.

Secondary NSP's distribute free 4 and 8 packs and condoms.

Pharmacies throughout the ACT dispense 4 packs at a cost of $2.
